About Bike & Bean
Durban’s ‘coffee culture’ has been taken to another level by the Bike & Bean group, so named because pre-Covid, a bike hire service was also on offer.
Each of the four shops offers an eccentric, vibrant destination for Durban residents and visitors to the City, to meet and mingle over the perfectly brewed cup of coffee, fresh baked goods or a simple, delicious meal. While coffee is at the centre of what we do, the community is at our heart. Starting with our own Staff, renowned for their service and customer-centric attitude, to the communities/ small businesses and suppliers with whom we work. Our environmentally-sensitive practices make our entire operation sustainable, an aspect we are incredibly proud of.
The Bike & Bean epitomises the City’s warmth and welcome, promoting an all-year-round outdoor lifestyle Durban is so famous for and the ideal base from which to explore the city through its cycle paths and pedestrian network. Through what we do and how we do it, we hope to promote a renewed sense of community and be ‘the place to be’ in Durban, with each of our shops an integral part of the City’s regeneration and development programme and its vision for the future. Viki Ferreira, is the hands-on owner of Bike Bean, involved in the day to day running of the business.
Meet Durban's 'Coffee Queen'
Viki Ferreira, the hands-on and dynamic owner and brand builder of Bike & Bean is responsible for the day to day running of the business. Together with her phenomenal Team, she ensures that quality and standards are maintained across all the shops. This was especially challenging during the peak of the Covid 19 period, with the fourth shop about to open. Viki, however was confident that the new venture would be a success due the amazing support and loyalty of her customers built over many years and the trust in the Bike & Bean brand.
